50th Anniversary

On May 4, the Baha’is of Hamilton Township celebrated the 50th anniversary of the formation of their Spiritual Assembly and its service to the community at Tessara’s Restaurant. Sixty two people attended!

In honor of this anniversary, the Assembly chose to celebrate six area community organizations known for their exemplary service to others. The organizations, Homefront, Womanspace, Project Freedom, Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK) the Hamilton Public Library and the John O. Wilson Neighborhood Service Center, each received a $1000 contribution and a letter of recognition from the Assembly.

The award recipients were deeply touched by this celebration of their service, and the warmth with which the Baha’is welcomed them.

Hamilton Mayor Jeff Martin attended and presented a proclamation in recognition of the 50th anniversary. Senator Linda Greenstein had resolutions prepared from the NJ State Senate for all six organizations to honor their service and one for the Spiritual Assembly to recognize the anniversary.

The event enabled these admirable organizations to have a better understanding of the Faith, and to open the way for further service collaborations in the future.
